8.2 Monitoring and evaluation plan
Monitoring
. Monitoring will be as follows; every 2
months for the Office of Integrated Coastal
Management, every 6 months in the Council of
Administration of the Municipality, and once a year a
balance in which all stakeholders participate, the
government authorities and institutions involved in the
Integrated Coastal Management
Evaluation
. It will be conducted annually according
to the established forms and allow you to make
clarifications in the Plan of Action.
8.3 Budget
The budget for the program comes from different
funding sources. For investments (construction of
culverts and purchase of selective fishing gear) will
count with the financing of international projects and
the Cuban Environment Fund. Other sources of
funding will be contributed as Communal, Education
and Culture at municipality level. Issues related to
monitoring the beach and elements of biodiversity will
be undertaken from territorial projects that
complement the international projects that are
developed in the area, although the expectation of the
program is that the community can undertake some of
these measurements.
8.4 Expected Benefits
The benefits expected from the implementation of
Integrated Coastal Management Program in the
selected area are:
1 - Institutional changes regarding the formalization of
structures to address issues of Integrated Coastal
Management, facilitating conditions and secure
financing.
2 - Changes in behavior of institutions and
stakeholders regarding the rehabilitation and
protection of the area.
3 - Environmental and social improvements that in
this case are in the recovery of mangrove, biodiversity
protection and increased quality of life of people that
includes the perception of risk from natural disasters
and assimilation of adaptation to climate change.
4 - Other benefits from economic and social aspects as
increased employment opportunities.
9 Conclusions
The coordinated action between different target
groups through an Integrated Coastal Management
Program will solve at short, medium and long term
conflict created between the parties in the use of
resources from the environment as a manifestation of
the negative actions in the early settlement, which
make the community vulnerable to climatic events and
that have generated negative environmental impacts
which to the community is subject.
